I've figured it out!

I know why I don't like the humor in Cold Comfort Farm. I like visuals too much to enjoy the book. I enjoy British TV: Sherlock, Doctor Who, The Office, and Little Britain. While the comedy styles of the shows mentioned don't perfectly match Cold Comfort Farm, they are close enough to make my wonder why I didn't enjoy them. When we watched the scene on Youtube where Amos was preaching, it got me to giggle more when I saw him saying there was no butter in hell. I suppose I would have laughed more if I had seen the cow with three legs as opposed to reading about it. I don't have much to say other than that I probably would have liked the book more as a movie. The characters were interesting, but to me, not likable. They weren't the type of people you wanted to go hang out with often. I know they all meant well, and in the end they got a bit better, but by the time they did, I was already upset with them and nothing would change that.
