I googled Seth Fried, the author of Animalcula, and found out that he has his own website. The interesting things I found on his website were that he has a web comic, that most of the full stories in his book The Great Frustration can be read online, and that he has a silly Q&A posted to vimeo that is worth watching if you want to see what he is like "off the page".
Comic:

The comic is pretty hit and miss in my opinion. All of them are pretty weird but some of them are funny.
Full Stories:

You can click on any of the images to see the content of the story. Not all of them provide the full story to read though. For example, if you click on Animalcula, you are directed to an animated "trailer" on vimeo. Honestly, the trailer is probably not worth the minute and a half of any of our time but it is interesting that it even exists.
Q&A Video:

This video gives you a good idea of what kind of the guy the author is and I think it's pretty funny with one or two good jokes in it. The video is less than two minutes long and is intended to advertise the book that our reading came from.
